So I got a phone call after work today… from the company that I came to Ireland to work for. The company that I left right before Christmas because I felt like I was being suffocated until I had no soul left, so that all I could do was work… for them. I felt like a slave. But today, I was being offered a job in a different department and I wasn’t quite sure how to react.

I left the company for a number of different reasons… and I’m not sure whether or not those reasons will change with the new department. Will I no longer have to be nocturnal? Will I still be able to enjoy weekends with my friends? Will I really have more of an opportunity to move up within the company?

When I left late December, I had the idea in my head that it was over for me. At least in terms of working for that company but I guess I was wrong… but I don’t know whether or not I should take the opportunity or just hope that it’ll come a knockin’ again. I mean it’s not like it’s the first time it’s knocking… in fact it’s the second.

Am I ready to go back to my industry? Is it still my industry?

Hmmm…. I’m not too sure. I think that is going to take some deep self-reflection on your part. I would not know what to tell you, other than, you don’t want to work for a place that does not pay you for what you are worth… or treats you like you are less than human.
