So I was finally able to disable my virus scanner, and now what used to take me 6 hours… takes 1. Powerdropping.com lists websites that feature their entrecard above the fold, and have their websites load in and around 1 second. Most of the websites are said to load in less than 1 second, but I find they can still take their time. Also, the list hasn’t been updated in a while and some of the websites don’t even have their widget displayed any longer. Or they have since seen the error of their ways and have restricted access to their blog to ‘invite only’. All in all, I can access about 220 blogs where I can drop my card on. The other 80 are saved for websites I like to read the those listed under ‘My People’ on my elsewhere page.
My elsewhere page is basically my ‘link love’ page (or blogroll) but I call it ‘elsewhere’ because it’s my blog, and I’ll call it what I wanna call it. The title of the category ‘My People’, I hope, speaks for itself… but it’s mostly full of people I either know in real life or wish I knew. Please don’t be offended if you’re not in the ‘My People’ section. It doesn’t mean I don’t find you interesting, especially if you’re in the ‘Fun’ section of my elsewhere page!
Anyway, give powerdropping a try… he has suggested that you open about 7-9 websites in firefox tabs and bookmark them all in folders in your bookmarks. And then on a different day (because assumingly you will have dropped cards as you opened all those websites in those tabs to bookmark them), all you have to do is go to each bookmark folder and select ‘open all in tabs…’ and because they’re all fast loading sites, you can drop 7-9 cards in milliseconds!

Further disclaimer: I have not sold my soul. Promise! I am trying an experiment that I will divulge at a later date, and it is the reason why I am trying to drop 300 cards. I much prefer reading people’s thoughts than simply clicking away like a madwoman!

I use the PowerDrop website and I thinks it’s very helpful. I use it to supplement the drops from my inbox and blogroll. Very good idea.
Although when I use my PC, opening more than 4-5 tabs slows it down and makes it freezes. I would use my Mac but none of my bookmarks are saved on it. Oneday I’ll get it together!
