Freakin’ hilarious! I’m just not sure that Disney intended for it to be this kind of funny. So Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) falls into the Prince Edward’s (James Marsden) arms after falling from trees some umpteen feet high after being chased by an troll and after immediately after introductions, “We will marry tomorrow!” Oh yes, I had quite the giggle over that one. I guess I had just forgotten how incredibly innocent Disney movies can be.
Throughout the song, “How do you know?” I felt like I was watching a movie on ecstacy. Not that I would know anything about that but I heard it makes you feel all lovey-dovey towards everything and anything and anyone and everyone and - you get the picture. And I’m sorry, but why does the Prince have to be so dumb? How is that romantic? At least the Princess is teaching someone a thing or two about love.
And if you seen this movie… did you catch the part where right after an attempt to interview Giselle, a reporter went on to ask, “Is rodent rage on the rise?” HA! How fitting of American media (sorry to be a hater, I promise it won’t happen often… I just thought it was funny).
Ok, ok all sarcasm aside: The best thing I loved about this movie is that Julie Andrews is involved because she is my favourite singer/actress of all time (side note: I love the photo above, because it reminds me of the opening scene of The Sound of Music, my all time favourite Julie Andrews movie). And since we’re on the subject of singing, I have to talk about the music in the movie… I know I was being a bit sarcastic earlier but I loved the music, it just made me feel so good! But I am glad there are only few songs in the movie.
I also liked how short and sweet the movie was, but then again I wasn’t expecting anything different from a Disney movie. The chick in me loved this movie because, true to form, in this Disney movie… everyone (except for the evil witch) lived happily ever after. And lastly, I especially loved the twist on this modern day fairytale. Want to know what I’m talking about? You’ll just have to watch the movie won’t you?

Wife and I absolutely love that movie. That tune was so catchy that it just got stuck in one’s mind. Can’t stop humming it thereafter… :p

I wanted to see this when it came out, but of course my H wasn’t having any of it. Not that I blame him…lol.
But I am a fan of Disney, even though I’m not terribly romantic, I still like the rampant cheesiness in their movies!
Speaking of Patrick D. I CAN’T WAIT for Greys Anantomy to make a comeback. I need a Mc Steamy fix, STAT! (yeah, I said it)

The Sound of Music is one of my all time favorite movies. I have not seen Enchanted but I think I have to rent it after reading this!

Enchanted was a wonderful movie our family enjoyed and the songs were great. As I said on one of the Disney blogs, people love princess stories and fairy tales. Some of us like to escape some of the “nasty” stuff going on in the world.
I just published a book called “If…Diana Didn’t Die” and it is about Princess Diana and it is of course a fairy tale. I just wanted to write what I thought Princess Diana’s life could have been like if she wasn’t taken so soon from us. She had so much more to give and of course in my book she did live happily ever after. I would love Disney to make this a movie (and perhaps Kevin Costner could play the part of John - no I won’t tell you who he is, you have to read the book :)) I have to run. Working on a new book called “If…Elvis Didn’t Die”. - A “king” fairy tale
