Things are starting to look up for me and I hope that they continue because my life always has a way of balancing itself just as things start to look up. Some people call me a pessimist, but I just don’t like the feeling of disappointment. So instead of simply expecting the best (which I do), I still prepare for the worst.

But anyway… on with the celebrations!

The first thing I want to celebrate is how successful my first day of work was. In fact, I would go as far as saying it was the most successful first day I’ve ever had. Now, before you become all impressed - don’t. I didn’t do much, but I did it ten times better than the guy I’m replacing and it is the only reason I had such a successful day. But I’m celebrating anyway!

The second thing I want to celebrate is that Lady Rose (Diet Pulpit, Stir the Cauldron & Entrecard Cookbook) did a special tarot reading for some entrecards recently and I was lucky enough to have my card chosen for a reading! You can read her post and see for yourself how talented this lady is! And not only that, but I won a 1 week spot on her blog from a contest that Stan recently held. Just feel the love!!

Lastly, and by no means least(ly?) I was able to meet one of my favourite bloggers, Erica from fiveblondes.com!! Unfortunately, we didn’t get to spend the whole day together on account of my interview at 11am that day. But I’m grateful for the opportunity to meet her and I hope I can visit her in her home city one day! Thanks again for thinking of me when you knew you were going to be in town Erica!

New GlassesOh, I almost forgot… I’m also celebrating getting new glasses (for real, this isn’t a paid post!!) I’ve been wearing glasses for 16 years and this is the first time I’ve been excited about glasses. They’re a departure from the frames I tend to get in that this the thickest frame I’ve ever gotten. I used to prefer thinner frames because I hated looking like I was wearing glasses, but I guess I’ve outgrown that silliness.

EDIT: I’m taking a break from Monday Madness, read the archives if you like.

I have new glasses too. I tried contacts years ago but they ripped and one piece was stuck in my eye. Too yucky. Glasses are ok with me. My frames are not thin but not thick either. My favourite so far were a dark blue, to match my eye colour (nearly). The current frames are a purple shade. A different shape. At least they aren’t those huge round frames everyone seemed to pick in the 80’s.

Nice glasses. I use to have glasses like that: thick black frame. I don’t look good in it, I looked like a total geek. 8-)

Not bad glasses, Queensy. I’d watch out for Canucklehead being on your top commentators. That guy’s sneaky.

@Laura: I still can’t wear my glasses out all day because having anything on my head/face like glasses, headbands, etc give me a head ache so I always wear contacts. Show me your glasses!!

@Haley: Thanks :) It looks like I’m going to be pretty good and very busy work! Enjoy your trip to San Fran!!

@Rudy: Thanks; hehe you can’t see it in the altered photo but the arms of the frame have this neat pattern in it, and they’re a nice dark silver. I used to think they made me look like a geek too which is why I hated them before, but now… I dunno?! lol

@Peri: Yeah, it’s permanent. Hope I get time off while the boy is here on holidays at the end of August! lol

@Michael: Thanks :) If I wore my glasses all the time I would definitely have gotten transitions because I’m blind without glasses so I couldn’t drive with just my sunglasses on! lol Oh and I used to have a flexicon frame… I still broke it! lol

@Stan: Thanks… stop calling me that LOL!! Re: Canuck, what’s he going to do? Hijack my comments? hehehe
